Future Directions in Digital Readability – Ideation Brainstorming Results

The Readability Consortium (TRC) led a workshop at the 2024 Vision Sciences Society Annual Meeting titled “The Vision Science of Digital Readability: Community-Building Workshop”. One component of the workshop was a brainstorming session where the 50+ attendees were asked to identify future research directions in digital readability.  Over 140 ideas were surfaced.  Below is a depiction of the  40 research categories in which the identified ideas belong. 

Click on each of the categories to be taken to its respective list of research ideas.  A particular idea may show up within more than one category.  (Note that the ideas are in their raw form, documented as they were written.)  You can use these potential areas of research to launch your own studies.  TRC is here to provide support as you need it, whether you require readability research expertise, connections to resources, inter-organizational collaborations, and the like.  TRC hopes these thoughts become fruitful endeavors, advancing TRC’s mission to bring readability to all.
